Founded in Denver, Colorado
Henry John Ham, the founder of the Henry Ham Insurance Agency, began his insurance career in 1926 in Denver, Colorado.
Henry had been born in Montague, Michigan in 1899. He grew up in Hudson, Colorado, a small town northeast of Denver where his parents settled shortly after his birth.
Soon after his high school graduation, Henry enlisted in the U.S. Air Corps. When World War I ended, he returned to school. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Denver School of Commerce.
Building a Family Business
Henry's son Rod joined the agency in 1965. Through cold calling and telephone contacts, he was responsible for developing new business. For many years it was just Henry, Rod and a secretary.
Rod was active in his church and in the community. He was also involved with several non- profit organizations. This led to the opportunity to provide non-profit business insurance to these organizations, some of which the agency continues to insure today.
Tradition Guides Our Growth
In the early 1980's, Henry's grandsons Hank and Greg joined the agency. Along with Rod they were able to grow the agency from within and still maintain the feel and service of a family-owned enterprise.
Today, Hank and Greg enjoy a great support team with years of experience in the insurance business.
All of us at the Henry Ham Insurance Agency share the same enthusiasm for our customers. We are all guided by the same service philosophy that Henry established in 1926: To provide service to clients based on honesty and a thorough knowledge of insurance.
